Teacher Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of Anyway Schools as a teacher, careers adviser or other authorised school staff member.
- Use Schools only within your school's authorisation and your role.
- Invite students through the available school invitation process. Your acceptance does not replace a student's agreement or any required parent or guardian permission.
- Student accounts and profiles can be shared across Schools and the personal Anyway website. School career summaries may include information added outside school.
- Check AI-generated material and recommendations before relying on them or using them with students.
- Schools has no reward earning, prizes, cash-outs or referral rewards.
- Accepting these terms does not purchase a school subscription or make you personally responsible for school fees.
1 About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the Australian Anyway Schools service at schools.anyway.ai/au, which we call Schools. We, us and our mean Year 13 Pty Ltd. You means the individual staff member using Schools. Your school means the school or education organisation for which you are authorised to use it.
By selecting the acceptance option, you agree to these terms for your own use. You confirm that you are authorised to perform the school activities you undertake through Schools. This acceptance does not, by itself, bind your school to a purchasing agreement, authorise you to approve services on its behalf or make you its legal representative.
Any separate agreement we have with your school continues to govern that school's arrangements with us. These terms do not vary it or impose its payment obligations on you. Your school's policies and lawful instructions also apply to your work.
From your acceptance on or after the effective date, these terms replace our general Australian terms for your use of Schools in an educator capacity. They do not change terms applying to separate personal use of Anyway or remove rights that have already arisen.
2 Your account and school authority
Provide accurate account, role and school details and keep them up to date. Use your own account, keep passwords and sign-in codes private and sign out of shared devices. Do not share a staff login with a colleague or student.
Creating an account or a school workspace does not establish that the school has approved the service or that you may access every student's information. Obtain any school approval required for your intended use through your school's normal processes. Only act for schools and classes you are authorised to support. Do not create, name or present a workspace as belonging to a school unless that school has authorised you to do so. A workspace name is not evidence that we have verified the school or your authority.
Use the permissions available to you only for that authorised work. Do not seek additional access by misrepresenting your role, using another account or bypassing restrictions. Tell your school contact or support@anyway.ai promptly if you see information you should not have access to, suspect account misuse or need your access changed.
Your Anyway account may also work on the personal website. The Schools website address does not by itself create a separate account or isolate its information. School-issued email addresses and sign-in services remain under the school's control. Contact us before losing access to one if you need account help.
3 Inviting and supporting students
Students must be invited to join their school on Anyway. Use the available school invitation process and send invitations only to intended students you are authorised to invite. Check the school, class and recipient details. Introduce the invitation through a school communication channel students recognise, so they can confirm it with a staff member they already know. A matching school name alone is not confirmation that an invitation is authentic. Do not publish restricted invitations or use them to enrol people outside the intended group.
Before introducing Schools to students, follow your school's requirements for approving the activity, informing students and parents, and obtaining any required permissions. Direct students to the Student Terms and our Privacy Policy before they use the service. The Student Terms require express parent or guardian permission for a student under 18 to create and use an account; an invitation alone does not establish that permission.
Accepting these Teacher Terms does not accept the Student Terms for a student or give privacy consent on behalf of a student or parent. Do not click acceptance on someone else's behalf merely because you teach them. If a required approval or permission is missing or unclear, refer the matter to the appropriate school contact before proceeding with that student's use.
Explain the activity and relevant school rules, including any rules about AI and assessed work. Help students understand what their school can see and where to get help. If a student cannot agree or participate, use your school's normal process to discuss another way to complete the learning activity.
4 Student information and school reporting
Depending on the features available, Schools may let you view student names and class details, school activities, submitted work, progress and a career summary. The school reporting described here is not restricted to your own classes or narrowed by the job title you select. Use this information only for authorised educational support and related school administration.
The career summary draws from the student's shared Anyway profile. It may include saved careers and education providers, badges, self-discovery results and other career exploration information added before the student joined your school or during personal use outside school. It is not necessarily limited to your class or the work you assigned. Other authorised staff at the school may also have access, and each school a student joins may see the shared summary.
Technical access does not give you permission to use every item for every purpose. Access only what you need for your role. Do not use student information for personal curiosity, unrelated marketing or an unauthorised disclosure. Take particular care when discussing or presenting information that a student supplied outside a classroom activity.
An ordinary teacher role does not, by itself, provide access to raw AI coach conversations. Information discussed or saved by a student may contribute to their career summary. Do not ask students to share their passwords or sign in as them to obtain a conversation or bypass this restriction.
Keep reports, downloads and screenshots secure under your school's information-handling and recordkeeping rules. Share them only with authorised recipients for a permitted purpose. Check the recipient, student and school before sending or displaying them. Do not upload identifiable student information to another AI tool or external service unless the school has authorised that disclosure and it is lawful.
If you work across schools, keep their separate records and your authority for each school distinct. Report an accidental disclosure or suspected information-security problem promptly to your school and to support@anyway.ai where it concerns Schools.
5 AI and your educational judgement
Schools may use AI for coaching, content, summaries and recommendations. AI can produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased or unsuitable results and may misunderstand the information it receives. Review AI-generated material for accuracy, suitability and your students' needs before assigning, sharing or relying on it.
Use your professional judgement and check important information against reliable sources. Do not make a significant decision about a student solely on an AI-generated answer, score or profile. Career suggestions and self-discovery results are discussion tools, not diagnoses or definitive assessments of ability or potential. We do not guarantee grades, qualifications, admissions or employment outcomes.
Follow your school's supervision, assessment, academic integrity and safeguarding policies. Schools supports your work; it does not replace your professional responsibilities or the school's arrangements for student wellbeing. This does not remove our responsibility for the service we provide.
The AI coach is not a person, counsellor or emergency service. Conversations are not continuously monitored for emergencies. Authorised review of stored conversations does not mean someone is watching live or will respond to a safeguarding concern in time. Use your school's established reporting and emergency procedures, and call 000 for immediate danger in Australia.
Do not enter passwords, banking details, identity documents or unnecessary sensitive information about students or colleagues into AI prompts or ordinary activities. If an output is unsafe or unsuitable, stop using it with students and report the concern through your school and our support channel as appropriate.
6 Privacy and information you provide
Our existing Privacy Policy applies to Schools. It explains our handling of personal information, including information provided by users and schools, usage information and information inferred about individuals. It covers providers, overseas handling, analytics, marketing choices and AI processing, including possible use of information to train a provider's AI model.
These terms do not introduce a separate Schools privacy policy or promise a separate Schools data environment. Before providing student information, consider the existing policy and your school's requirements. Provide only information you are authorised to disclose and that is reasonably needed for the activity. Do not upload confidential student case files or other sensitive records merely because a feature accepts text or attachments.
Contact support@anyway.ai about access, correction, deletion or privacy complaints concerning information we hold. Follow your school's procedures for requests concerning its records, and pass requests to the appropriate contact where needed. Deletion is subject to applicable law and recordkeeping requirements and does not automatically remove copies held by your school or others.
Your acceptance does not replace any separate consent or other lawful authority required for handling personal information. We remain responsible for our own privacy obligations.
7 Content and intellectual property
You, your school, students or other relevant owners retain their existing rights in content uploaded to Schools. Upload only material you are entitled and authorised to use and share. Your role does not give you ownership of student work or let you override the student's rights and permissions.
To the extent you are authorised to do so, you give us permission to store, copy, process, analyse and display the content you provide as reasonably needed to provide, maintain, secure and improve Schools, support the sharing described here and meet legal obligations. We may use service providers for those purposes. This permission is subject to privacy law and our Privacy Policy and does not transfer ownership to us. It continues while the content is needed for those purposes, including lawful retention after access ends.
We or our licensors own the platform and learning materials. You may use available materials for authorised teaching, school administration and related career education, including downloads and classroom sharing the service permits. Respect any additional licence conditions shown with particular materials. Do not sell them or redistribute them beyond those permissions.
Check that uploaded content and material you publish to students respects copyright, confidentiality and other people's rights. AI outputs may resemble other outputs and may not attract copyright protection; we do not promise exclusive rights in them.
8 Acceptable use
You must not use Schools to bully, harass, threaten or discriminate unlawfully; share unlawful material; infringe another person's rights; access records without authority; or deliberately damage or disrupt the service. Do not introduce malicious software, automate abuse or bypass security or access controls.
Do not use the service to impersonate a student, misrepresent their work or conceal an unauthorised use of their information. Reporting a concern, making a complaint or seeking help is allowed.
9 Fees and rewards
Accepting these terms does not create a personal subscription, automatic renewal, payment guarantee or obligation for you to pay your school's fees. Any paid school services require a separate arrangement with an authorised purchaser. Students are not charged to use Schools under the Student Terms.
Schools does not offer coin earning, cash-outs, gift-card rewards, prizes, prize draws, reward competitions or referral rewards. Activities undertaken through Schools do not earn money or reward credit to claim elsewhere or later. School invitations are not rewarded referrals.
Do not promise students rewards for using Schools or suggest that school activity will become redeemable later. The no-rewards position also applies when you try student activities through Schools using teacher preview or demo access. Learning progress, badges and certificates may still be available; they have no cash or redemption value and are not accredited qualifications unless expressly identified as such.
These terms do not cancel rights to rewards previously lawfully earned under separate terms. Refer existing balance or approved-reward questions to support@anyway.ai. We may consider rewards for Schools later, subject to separate rules and any required approvals or permissions. Acceptance now does not approve a future program or authorise participation by you, your school or students.
10 External services
Schools may link to other organisations' websites or services. Review their suitability before using them with students. They have their own terms and privacy practices, and a link does not establish your school's approval to disclose student information or make a purchase.
We do not guarantee another organisation's information, courses or services merely because we link to it. We remain responsible for our own legal obligations, including where another organisation helps us provide Schools.
11 Changes, availability and ending access
We will use reasonable care and skill in providing Schools. Features may change, and maintenance or faults may interrupt access. Keep any records your school needs through its normal approved processes and make suitable arrangements if an interruption affects a lesson or deadline.
We may update these terms for service changes, legal requirements or other reasonable operational needs. For material changes, we will explain them, give reasonable notice where practicable and ask you to accept the updated terms before they apply to your continued use. Urgent legal or safety changes may require shorter notice. Changes will not remove rights that have already arisen. If you do not agree, stop using Schools and contact us or your school about your access and records.
You may stop using Schools at any time. If you leave a school or your authority changes, stop accessing information you are no longer authorised to use and promptly ask your school contact or us to update your access. Do not assume a change of employment automatically updates your account. Handle any retained school records under the school's instructions and applicable law.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect people or information, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law or act on a valid school instruction. We will explain the reason and let you request a review unless that would be unlawful or create a safety risk. Where a problem can be fixed, we will normally allow a reasonable opportunity to fix it.
Access may end for a serious or repeated breach, when school access ends or if we discontinue the service. We will give reasonable notice of a planned discontinuation where practicable. Ending your access does not automatically delete school records, close student accounts or cancel any separate school agreement. Closing a shared account may also affect personal Anyway access; contact us about your options first.
12 Legal rights and support
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a consumer guarantee, privacy right or other right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies. The explanations about AI, interruptions and external services do not remove our responsibility to comply with the law or these terms.
These terms do not require you personally to indemnify us, guarantee your school's obligations or pay contractual penalties. Responsibility for a claim is determined under applicable law. Your responsibilities for your own use do not make you a guarantor of every student's conduct.
Contact support@anyway.ai for service help, information requests or complaints. You can also seek help from your school, a relevant regulator, consumer authority, court or tribunal without first completing a private dispute process.
New South Wales law governs these terms, subject to mandatory laws and rights that apply where you are located. Claims may be brought in New South Wales or another court or tribunal where the law allows. If part of these terms cannot lawfully operate, the rest continues so far as possible.
