Terms and Conditions
Anyway Schools helps you explore careers, learn skills and complete activities with your school. These terms explain the rules for using it.
- You need an invitation to join your school on Anyway. Schools is free for students.
- Your Anyway account and profile can be shared across the Schools and personal websites. Your school can see schoolwork, progress and a career summary that may include information you added outside school.
- The AI coach can make mistakes. Check important answers with your teacher or another trusted person.
- Schools has no reward earning, prizes, cash-outs or referral rewards.
- Ask your teacher, parent, guardian or us if you need help understanding these terms.
1 About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the Australian Anyway Schools service at schools.anyway.ai/au, which we call Schools. We, us and our mean Year 13 Pty Ltd. You means the student using Schools.
By selecting the acceptance option, you agree to these terms for your own use. You are not entering an agreement on behalf of your school or agreeing to pay its fees. Your school's classroom and acceptable-use rules also apply to your school activities.
From your acceptance on or after the effective date, these terms replace our general Australian terms for your use of Schools. They do not change terms that apply to your separate use of the personal Anyway website or remove rights that have already arisen.
2 Joining your school
You must be invited by your school to join it on Anyway. Use a school invitation only if it is intended for you, and check the school name before joining. Choosing a school from a list does not by itself authorise you to join it. Do not share an invitation with someone who is not entitled to use it.
If you are under 18, you must have your parent's or legal guardian's express permission to create and use your account. Read these terms with them and ask for help if anything is unclear. A school invitation does not by itself mean that your parent or guardian has given permission. If you are 18 or older, you can agree for yourself.
If you do not agree or do not have the permission you need, do not complete the acceptance step. Speak to your teacher about how to take part in the learning activity. You can contact support@anyway.ai with questions before agreeing.
3 Your account and profile
Use your own account and provide accurate information. Keep your password and sign-in codes private, sign out of shared devices and tell your teacher or us if someone else may have accessed your account. Do not impersonate someone or use another student's account.
Schools and the personal Anyway website can use the same account and profile. Signing in through Schools does not create a separate profile, and the same sign-in may work on the personal website. If you already have an account, use the available sign-in or linking options, or ask us for help.
Your school controls any school email address or sign-in service it provides and may stop providing it when you leave. Contact us before losing access if you need help with your account. We do not promise lifetime access or an automatic transfer to another product.
4 What your school can see
Authorised staff at a school you join can access information to support your learning. Depending on the features you use, this includes:
- your name, school and class details;
- school activities, submitted work, completion and progress; and
- a career summary, including things such as saved careers and education providers, badges, self-discovery results and indicators of your career exploration.
The career summary comes from your shared Anyway profile. It can include information added before you joined the school or during personal use outside school. It is not limited to work set by your current teacher. Authorised teachers and careers staff beyond your own class teacher may be able to see it. If you join more than one school, each may see that shared summary.
An ordinary teacher's school access does not, by itself, give them access to your raw AI coach conversations. Information you discuss or save may contribute to your career summary. Authorised Anyway personnel and service providers may access information, including stored conversations, to operate the service, provide support, investigate problems or meet legal obligations.
School staff may keep reports and copies for their school records. Ask your school about how it uses and keeps information. Stopping your use of Schools does not automatically delete those records or remove your school connection. Contact your school or us if you want that connection removed.
5 Using AI and learning materials
Some features, including the coach, use artificial intelligence. AI can give incorrect, incomplete, biased or unsuitable answers even when it sounds confident. It can misunderstand you.
Check important information with your teacher, careers adviser or an original source, such as the relevant university or training provider. Follow your school's rules about AI in assessed work and how to acknowledge its use.
Career suggestions and self-discovery results are starting points for discussion. They do not determine your ability or future. We do not guarantee grades, qualifications, admission to a course or employment.
The coach is not a person, counsellor or emergency service. Conversations are not continuously monitored for emergencies. Do not rely on a message to the coach to alert an adult or get urgent help. If something is upsetting or unsafe, stop using it and speak to a trusted adult. For immediate danger in Australia, call 000.
Do not put passwords, banking details, identity documents or other people's private information into the coach or ordinary activity responses. Avoid sharing sensitive personal details that are not needed for the activity.
6 Your information and privacy
Our existing Privacy Policy applies to Schools. It explains how we collect and handle personal information, including information you provide, your activity and information inferred about you. Read it alongside the school-sharing explanation in section 4.
The policy covers service providers, overseas handling, analytics, marketing choices and AI processing, including the possibility of information being used to train a provider's AI model. These terms do not introduce a separate Schools privacy policy or promise that your account's information is held in a separate Schools environment.
You can contact support@anyway.ai to request access to your information, correct a mistake, ask about deletion or make a privacy complaint. You can ask a trusted adult to help. Deletion may be subject to applicable law and recordkeeping requirements; a request does not automatically erase records held by your school or other organisations.
Accepting these terms does not replace any separate consent required by law or authorise every possible use of your information. Your legal privacy rights continue to apply.
7 Your work and our materials
You keep any intellectual property rights you have in work you create or upload. Subject to privacy law and our Privacy Policy, you give us permission to store, copy, process, analyse and display that work as reasonably needed to provide, maintain, secure and improve Schools, provide the school sharing described here and meet legal obligations. We may use service providers to help us do this.
This permission applies while we need to hold the work for those purposes, including lawful retention after you stop using Schools. It does not transfer ownership of your work to us.
We or our licensors own the platform and learning materials. You may use materials made available to you for your learning and school activities, including downloads the service allows. Respect other people's copyright and privacy. Do not sell or redistribute materials beyond what the service or their licence permits.
AI output may resemble other people's output and may not attract copyright protection. We do not promise that an AI answer is unique or that you will have exclusive rights in it.
8 Using Schools respectfully
Use Schools for learning and related career exploration. You must not:
- bully, threaten, harass or impersonate someone;
- share unlawful content or infringe another person's privacy or rights;
- access accounts or school records you are not authorised to access; or
- deliberately damage the service, introduce malicious software, automate abuse or bypass security or access controls.
You can report a problem, make a complaint or ask for help about a difficult experience. Doing so is not itself misuse. Tell your teacher or email support@anyway.ai if something seems wrong.
9 No student fees or rewards
We do not charge you to use Schools. These terms do not create a subscription, automatic renewal or payment obligation for you or your parent or guardian.
Schools does not offer coin earning, cash-outs, gift-card rewards, prizes, prize draws, reward competitions or referral rewards. Activities undertaken through Schools do not earn money or reward credit to claim elsewhere or later. A school invitation is a way to join your school, not a rewarded referral.
Progress indicators, badges or certificates may recognise learning. They have no cash or redemption value and are not accredited qualifications unless we expressly identify the qualification and its issuer.
Joining Schools does not cancel rights to rewards you previously lawfully earned under separate terms. Contact us if you need help with an existing balance or approved reward. Those items remain subject to the applicable separate terms.
We may consider offering rewards in Schools in the future. If we do, we will provide the applicable rules and obtain any approvals or permissions required before participation. Agreeing to these terms does not sign you up to a future rewards program, and we do not promise that one will be introduced.
10 Other websites
Activities may link to websites run by other organisations. Those organisations have their own terms and privacy practices. Check before sharing information, opening an account or paying for anything, and ask a trusted adult if you are unsure.
A link does not mean we guarantee another organisation's information, courses or services. We remain responsible for our own legal obligations, including where another organisation helps us provide Schools.
11 Changes, availability and leaving
We will use reasonable care and skill in providing Schools. Features may change, and interruptions can happen during maintenance or because of faults. Tell your teacher if a problem affects schoolwork or a deadline.
We may update these terms for changes to the service, legal requirements or other reasonable operational needs. For material changes, we will explain the change, give reasonable notice where practicable and ask you to accept the updated terms before they apply to your continued use. Urgent legal or safety changes may need shorter notice. Changes will not remove rights that have already arisen. If you do not agree, you can stop using Schools and contact your teacher or us about your work and access.
You can stop using Schools at any time and contact your school or us about leaving. School access may end when you leave school, your school stops providing access or the service ends. Closing a shared Anyway account may also affect access to the personal website. Ask us about your options and retrieving available work before closing it.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect people or information, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law or act on a valid school instruction. We will explain the reason and let you ask us to review it, unless doing so would be unlawful or create a safety risk. Where a problem can be fixed, we will normally give you a reasonable opportunity to fix it.
We may end access for a serious or repeated breach or if we discontinue the service. We will give reasonable notice of a planned discontinuation where practicable. Ending access does not automatically delete all information or affect rights and obligations that have already arisen.
12 Your rights and getting help
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a consumer guarantee, privacy right or other right or remedy that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit. This includes rights under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies. The explanations about AI, interruptions and other websites do not remove our responsibility to comply with the law or these terms.
These terms do not require you to pay your school's debts, cover our losses under an indemnity or pay contractual penalties. Responsibility for a claim is determined under applicable law.
For account help, privacy questions or complaints, email support@anyway.ai. You can ask a parent, guardian or another trusted person to help. Contact your school about teaching decisions and its school records. You can also seek help from a relevant privacy regulator, consumer authority, court or tribunal; you do not have to complete a private dispute process first.
New South Wales law governs these terms, subject to mandatory laws and rights that apply where you live. You can bring a claim in New South Wales or another court or tribunal where the law allows. If part of these terms cannot lawfully operate, the rest continues so far as possible.
